Beginner Dance
This class is for dancers with less than 3 full years dance training. It is designed to transition dancers into more advanced classes with their age group while allowing dancers to compete at the appropriate level. This class includes jazz and lyrical.
Competitive Levels
Various classes are offered for competitive dancers including jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, pointe, and acro. These classes are for dancers age 7+ and must be paired with a competitive technique class. Please see the competitive section of our website for more info on these programs.
Acrobatics
Includes contortion, tumbling, strength, balance, flexibility, and artistic movements. Classes are taught in multi level format to allow students to progress at their own pace . **OPTIONAL Examinations through Acrobatic Arts may be taken by qualifying dancers after the completion of their first full year of acro at Dance Artistry.
Flexibility
Our flexibility program will follow the Alixa flexibility progressions focusing on building strength, control, alignment, body awareness, mobility, and injury prevention. This program supports students who struggle to progress as well as those with hyper-mobility.
Ballet Examination Classes
We encourage all of our dancers to participate in our CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association) Ballet Examinations as ballet is the foundation of all other styles of dance. We are able to offer all levels from Primary to Advanced. If your level is not shown on the schedule of classes offered it may be added.
Exams are optional to all dancers except Mini Stars and Level 1 competitive. Exams are taken in February and awards are presented to top marks at our end of year recital.
***HIGHEST MARK OVERALL will receive a full year scholarship to Dance Artistry for the following dance year.
Adult Classes
Various adult classes are offered to dancers age 18+ throughout the year. We also offer an adult competitive option for dancers with previous experience who would like to return to the stage. Please see our ADULT CLASSES page for more info on upcoming class options. Adult classes are usually done in 8 week sessions nd may not be included on upcoming schedules.

The class will include a warm up and drills in turns, jumps, leaps, and various technical dance elements. NC dancers may also take Ballet Exams, Acrobatics, Flexibility, and Pointe.
